CSSC Books Drillship Pair

China State Shipbuilding Corporation recently announced that it sealed an additional order for a pair of drillship from Reignwood Group on December 31, 2012.
Recently contracted optional pair will be constructed at Shanghai Shipyard. Two firm newbuildings, started construction in 2012, had been ordered by Reignwood's Singapore-based subsidiary OPUS Offshore.
Newbuildings, 170m in length and 32m in breadth, will be capable of operating at 5,000 ft water depth and drilling to depths of 30,000 ft.
These drillships are to equipped with drilling system, supplied by Honghua Group in EPC deal. Also, they will be installed major facilities manufactured by major offshore companies, such as Cameron, SWACO, etc.
Meanwhile, CSSC and Reignwood signed a contract for two plus two TIGER drillship projects on September 21, 2011.
Shanghai Shipyard is in charge of design and construction, with the first drillship's delivery slated for Q1 2014.
