China's second-grade steel companies are said to plan offering higher prices of marine thick plate to be exported to Korean shipyards.
Recently, Korea's small- to medium-sized shipyards and China's second-grade steel makers had price negotation for marine thick plate. China's offering price, as of the end of December 2012, was brought up by around $10bn month-on-month to $590/ton.
With China's exporting thick plate offering prices growing, its prices are expected to increase as well.
Meanwhile, as of January 9, in China, 10-mm marine thick plate costs CNY 4,361 per ton, while average price of 20-mm thick plate is CNY 4,248/ton.
