Japan's K Line is said to be in talks with a compatriot shipbuilder for ultra-large containership newbuildings.
Industry sources said the shipping company was in discussion with at Imabari Shipbuilding to build five ultra-large boxships.
They add the deal would be a direct order with yard or a lease deal with domestic shipowner Shoei Kisen.
The size of the newbuildings in talks are reportedly 14,000TEU class.
