According to Baltic Exchange, the prices for secondhand Panamax bulk carriers see the biggest decline in 2012.
The price for five-year Panamax is currently about $18.30m, dropping by 30% compared with the peak price $26.0m in 2012. The assessment of five-year Handymax fell by 28% from $25.0m to $18.0m by the end of 2012 while the value for five-year Capesize bulkers decreased to $29.8m, down by 20%. Besides, five-year VLCC prices dropped by 9% to $29.8m compared to the peak value in last year.
