Chilean shipowner Empresa Maritima (Empremar) has bought a 35,000DWT bulker newbuilding in a resale deal.
The Kerkini, to be renamed the SPL Atacama, has been acquired for about $25m, according to shipbrokers.
The ship, originally ordered by Greece’s Roxana Shipping, was recently delivered by SPP Shipbuilding.
Meanwhile, Greece's Dalex Shipping is said to have bought the 33,000DWT Nord Aarhus (built 2012) from Denmark’s Norden at around $20m.
