Mozambique LNG export project, developed by Anadarko Petroleum of US and Mitsui & Co. in Japan, is predicted to need around 12 LNG carriers.
While massive negotiation for LNG-carrier procurement is expected, particularly, Japanese shipping and shipbuilding industry is interested in the project developed by the Japanese company.
Consideration of LNG carrier procurement has already been started, however, it will take some time before the project decides shipowners.
Final investment decision is scheduled in 2013, with LNG production to start from 2018.
LNG sales contract has not been made yet.
