According to COSCO group, the strategic cooperation signing ceremony between the China Ocean Shipping Co., Ltd (COSCO) and China Shipbuiding Industry Corporation (CSIC) was held in Beijing. COSCO CEO Wei Jiafu, Managing Director Ma Zehua, Deputy General Manager Li Yunpeng and CSIC GM Li Changyin, Deputy GM Qian Jianping and Sunbo attended the ceremony. COSCO and CSIC will deepen their cooperation in shipbuilding technology, logistics, transportation and other fields in accordance with the agreement. The agreement has significant meaning to China's maritime power and low-carbon development.
COSCO GM Meng Changlin, DSIC GM Liu Zheng and CSIC International Trading Co., Ltd GM Xu Ziqiu signed on the newbuilding contract for 2+2 VLCC as the launching project for the two parties’ cooperation.
It is disclosed that the VLCC will be built by DSCI and use new energy-efficient and environmental- friendly design, which will greatly reduce energy consumption.
