Singapore-based Basic Offshore has ordered eight platform supply vessels (PSVs) from Chinese yard Guangzhou Huangpu Shipyard.
Basic Offshore will take delivery of the first two 4,200 dwt PSVs from the shipyard in 2014.
The offshore vessels could be deployed in West Africa and will be built for installation of offshore cranes for light subsea construction work, according to Basic Offshore.
Six options are attached to the firm contract and financial terms were not disclosed by the involved parties.
