Samsung Heavy Industries is reportedly in talks with SK Shipping to build two 180,000CBM LNG carriers to be deployed for Ichthys project.
Also, Greece's GasLog outperformed expectations in quarterly profits and pledged to expand fleet.
Chairman Peter Livanos said, “We see additional new requirements for LNG ships emerging that support our optimism regarding our two open vessels.”
Only two of the company’s eight newbuildings on order remain unchartered.
Livanos said that the construction program at Samsung Heavy Industries was “on time and on budget”.
GasLog currently holds options for two LNG carriers with the Korean shipbuilder.
