Sembcorp Marine's subsidiary Jurong Shipyard inked a contract to build a second accommodation semi-submersible worth $295.2m for Prosafe. This follows a letter of intent announced by the companies in October this year.
The harsh-environment accommodation semi-submersible is scheduled for delivery no later than end of December 2014. Prosafe contracted its first unit with Jurong Shipyard in December 2011.
Along with the latest contract, Jurong Shipyard granted two additional options to Prosafe for further newbuilds. Including the option previously granted last year, Prosafe will now have a total of three options for accommodation semi newbuilds at the Singapore-based yard.
