The OFFSHORE KOREA 2012 (OK2012), Korea's first ever offshore plant-dedicated exhibition opens today, taking "the first giant steps"
This morning, Mr. Huh Nam-sik, Busan Metropolitan City Mayor, Mr. Go Jae-ho, Korea Shipbuilders' Association Chairman, Mr. Lee Dong-Hyung, Busan Marine Equipment Association Chairman, Mr. Gert Aiglstorfer, Pacific Drilling Company's Newbuilding General Manager among 30 VIPs attend the tape-cutting ceremony for the grand opening of OK2012.
The OK2012 technical conference, with a subject 'The Giant Steps to Deep Water' will start the exhibition. A Program chairperson Park Jong-Bong, an executive director of Hyundai Heavy Industries, will give an opening address at 10 AM.
Chairman John Westwood of Douglas Westwood in UK will deliver the keynote address on global offshore market trend and executives from Major 4 Korean shipyards, National Oilwell Varco, etc., will give presentations about overall 17 subjects regarding offshore fabrication and equipment.
Another important events include the Vendor List Registry Presentation by Shell, Inpex and Pacific Drilling senior executives, and the Technology Cooperation Sourcing Consultation joined by around 50 foreign equipment makers like Thrustmaster and about 120 Korean equipment makers.
