Amid intensified disputes between China and Japan over Diaoyu/Senkaku islands, demand for newbuilding patrol ships from China is increasing.
Maritime Safety Administration in Zhejiang, Shanghai, Shandong, etc., in China have recently called for tenders of one patrol ship each and Wuchang Shipbuilding Industry and Guangxi Xijiang Shipbuilding turned out to have won three vessels each after competing with around 11 local shipyards.
Three newbuildings inked by Guangxi Xijiang values around overall CNY 146.7m ($23.4m).
