It is reported that Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding (Group) Co., Ltd is to win a newbuilding order for the construction of at most six 38,000dwt stainless-steel chemical tankers from Norwegian owner Stolt-Nielsen.
Since this August, Stolt-Nielsen has been rumored in negotiation with Hudong-Zhonghua, Mingde Heavy Industry and Korean builder SPP for the newbuilding project. The company is likely to Choose Hudong for its rich experience in building high-value-added ships and flexibility in contracts details and optional items eventually.
The contract price has not been disclosed. However, it is rumored that the price is about $60.0-70.0m apiece and to be delivered by 2015.
