Daiichi Chuo Kisen, a Japanese bulker owner, turns out to have cancelled six bulkers from April to September of this fiscal year, as its earnings decrease amid depressed market.
The company cancelled a total of six vessels - one capesize bulker, two panamaxes, one handymax and two handysizes.
Four newbuildings were slated for delivery in FY 2013 and the others were to be delivered in FY 2015.
Accordingly, Daiichi Chuo added up JPY 3.28bn to extraordinary loss during the cited period.
