STX OSV has secured contracts worth NOK750m ($139m) for the construction of two platform supply vessels (PSVs) for Island Offshore, the company announced Thursday. The PSVs will be delivered from STX OSV Brevik in Norway in the first and third quarter of 2013 respectively. The hulls of the vessels will be delivered from STX OSV Braila in Romania. The contract for the second vessel is subject to certain conditions being fulfilled before the end of the third-quarter of this year. “The vessels will be of Rolls Royce's UT 776 CD design. The overall length of each vessel will be 96.8 metres with a beam of 20.0 metres, and the deadweight will be 4800 dwt,” STX OSV said.
