The Marine Money Greek Forum recently held in Athens underlined that refraining from new ship ordering is crucial for the industry to return to health.
“There are things that can and should be done by owners, and number one is: do not order,” said Star Bulk Carriers chief executive Spyros Capralos.
“The first six months of 2013 will be critical and very difficult for the dry bulk business,” said Mr Capralos.
“But I think after that things will get better and balance in the market may come faster than everyone expects.”
