In last week, totally three Capesize bulkers were reported to be resold.
Korean owner Sinokor Merchant Marine purchased the 1993-blt MV HEBEI WINNER at a cost of $12.50m from HOSCO. Jinhai Heavy Industry also successfully resold its Capesize bulker “Bulk Loyalty” to Greece-based Golden Union Shipping at a price of $34.50m. Japan company NS United Kaiun Kaisha resold MV NSS ADVANCE for $10.00m.
The assessment for Capesize bulker remains depressed due to the capacity oversupply despite of the increase of dry bulk freight rates recently.
It is reported that the two Kasarmax and one small Capesize bulkers cancelled by New Century Cyprus have been resold at a price of $23.00 apiece.
In January, a China-built Kasarmax bulker was resold at a value of $32.00m and a Capesize bulker were resold at same price in Feburary.
