Greek shipowner George Prokopiou has bought five bulker newbuilding resales from New Century Shipbuilding Group in an en bloc deal worth over $140m.
They include three kamsarmax bulkers, a mini-capesize and a capesize which will join the fleet of Sea Traders, the dry bulk arm of the shipping group.
The five bulkers built at the New Century and New Times shipyards in China were all cancelled by the Chinese, Greek and Italian shipping companies that originally ordered them.
