Currently most LNG carrier newbuilding inquiries are said to be for remote delivery schedules in 2017 and 2018.
Korean shipyards are chasing LNG-carrier newbuilding orders amid order drought in ordinary commercial ships.
But just 22 new LNG carriers have been contracted this year, as compared to 56 in 2011, according to Platou LNG.
Korean yards swept 16 orders of them this year, but they seemingly need to undergo an LNGC order gap from now on to see another rush of LNG carrier orders coming in again.
The gap may last a couple of months or a year or so.
