Foresight founder Ravi Mehrotra believes "Divine Intervention" from China and India could create the largest boom in shipping history in 2016.
A second wave of growth in the Chinese economy coupled with a rise in Indian consumption will provide the inspiration for the freight markets, he forecast.
Speaking at a meeting of the Indian Maritime Association last week Mehrotra said, "At present we are in an oversupply position. But come 2016 – that is my prediction – we are in for another shipping boom."
