Frontline 2012 is close to expanding its tonnages with newbuilding boxships.
John Fredriksen’s new consolidation vehicle said, "We currently see newbuilding prices in several markets at historically low levels. This creates an attractive risk / reward balance and interesting opportunities."
And added, “Frontline 2012 is currently in discussions regarding a further increase of the newbuilding programme and will continue to pursue its target to create the global leading commodity shipping company.”
According to analyst Erik Nikolai Stavseth of Arctic Securities, “There might be a further expansion into other segments going forward as yard prices for other assets than those mentioned above (such as container vessels) also have come down considerably.”
