It is reported that Guangzhou Wenchong Shipyard has recently secured a newbulding order for two sub-Panamax boxship units from Greek owner Easter Mediterranean Maritime. The contract also concluded two optional vessels.
The new-builds are scheduled for delivery by Q2 2014. The ship is to equip three 45-t cranes and 490 freezer bearings. Main engine is MAN B&W 6S60ME-C and maximum speed is up to 19 knots.
Lomar Shipping ordered two same boxships at the shipyard at the beginning of this year. Besides, Eastern is said to have ordered four 1,700TEU units last year.
