Singapore's offshore support vessel builder and owner/operator Jaya Offshore has sold its second AHTS newbuilding in a month.
It has offloaded the 5,200-bhp anchor-handling-tug-supply vessel Jaya Aster (completed in June 2012) in a $12.5m deal, brokers say.
It follows the sale of the 16,100-bhp Jaya Supreme (delivery in August 2012) last month to Atlantic Towing.
Brokers note there has been a rise in the sale and purchase activity of smaller offshore ships recently.
Meanwhile, Jaya has four more AHTS vessels, two ROV subsea operation vessels, one multi-purpose vessel and four PSVs under construction for delivery from 2012 by 2014.
It also controls 29 offshore support vessels including 22 AHTSV in its fleet in the water.
