Hindusthan Shipyard Ltd here has carried out modernisation and repair works of the ONGC jack-up rig, Sagar Ratna, and handed it over to the ONGC, according to a press release.
Rear-Admiral (retd) N.K Mishra, Chairman and Managing Director of HSL, said on the occasion that there was close cooperation between ONGC and HSL in both construction and repairs of the offshore assets of ONGC. He said HSL had carried out repairs to 2,000 ships over the years.
The oil rig is a cantilever-type, non-propelled, self-elevating drilling unit for the maximum operating water depth of 300 feet and drilling depth of 20,000 feet.
