D’Amico International Shipping (DIS)'s operating subsidiary d’Amico Tankers is heading back to Hyundai Mipo Dockyard for two new 40,000-dwt handysize tankers, valued at $30.65m each.
These newbuildings, designed by Hyundai Mipo's fuel-efficient shallow-draft HMD ECO 40 ShallowMax, are expected to be delivered in early 2014 with two options attached.
D'Amico has already lined up time charters with an oil major for five years each.
Following delivery, the fleet will comprise 24 owned vessels and 18 chartered-in tankers.
