Sinokor Merchant Marine has been reported as the buyer of a capesize bulker on order at Sungdong Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering in Korea.
Brokers say the Seoul-based shipowner paid $39.5m to pick up the 180,000 newbuilding, which is due for delivery in 2013.
If the rumour proves true the price tag is $1m lower than the appraisal calculated by vesselsvalue.com and $1.5m below the prompt delivery estimate of a leading US sale-and-purchase specialist.
