STX Offshore & Shipbuilding announced today that it signed a newbuilding contract on July 18th with Ignazio Messina & C. S.p.A. for construction of four 45,000-dwt Container Ro-Ro vessels.
The contract value stands at KRW 335bn ($294m), STX revealed.
The newbuildings will be delivered from STX' Jinhae Shipyard in Korea during June-December 2014.
STX explained the hybrid vessels can carry containers and cars at the same time.
