China's Marine Equip Export Grows
China's marine equipment export appears to make a steady increase during the first five months of 2012.
On the other hand, total amount of export and import declined by 4.5% to $2.97bn year-on-year. According to the General Administration of Customs of China, marine equipment export, during the same period, stood at $1.19bn, up by 16.1% y-o-y, while import decreased by 14.5% to $1.78bn.
In May, export increased to $276m, up by 23.7% year-on-year and by $24m month-on-month, while import stood at $384m, down by 23.5% y-o-y and up by $24m m-o-m.
During January to May period, China exported marine equipment to 175 countries, of which Asia accounted for 58.6% in terms of value with $698m and Europe took 16.8% with $200m.
China exported in the excess of $100m to four countries, including Korea, the US, Japan, etc., of them the amount of export to Korea accounted for 14.1% with $168m.
Meanwhile, China imported marine equipment from overall 55 countries, total imports from Asia and Europe stood at $1.06bn and $602m, respectively.
