Murmansk Shipping Eyes Acquisition of 4 Bulk Carriers

Murmansk Shipping Company (MSC) running the fleet upgrade program plans to purchase in 2012-2013 four bulk carriers through its own funds, the MSC press service said. The shipping company will order 2 vessels with capacity of 75,000 tons, and 2 - 35,000 tons.
JSC Murmansk Shipping Group (includes three operators: Murmansk Shipping, Northern Shipping, Northern River Shipping) specializes in transportation of general cargo and passengers by own and its subsidiaries fleet and chartered fleet. The holding’s fleet comprises more than 300 vessels of total deadweight of about 2 million tons. The main shareholders of the group are Arctic Technology (62,7%) and the Russian Government.
