Technip has been awarded a contract for the Ichthys floating production, storage and offloading unit in the Browse basin, off Western Australia.
Technip said the contract would be carried out by its operating centre in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and covered detailed engineering and procurement assistance for the topsides facilities of the FPSO.
South Korea’s Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering won the $2 billion contract to build the Ichthys FPSO earlier this year.
The FPSO will be a newbuild 335 metre vessel designed to produce 85,000 barrels per day of condensate and store 1.2 million barrels of liquids.
It is scheduled for delivery in the third quarter of 2016.
