Cyprus-based， Nasdaq-listed owner Castor Maritime has added the 2023-built Seacon Hamburg in its latest kamsarmax move.

Last week， Castor announced it had agreed to acquire an unnamed 2023-built kamsarmax bulker for $37.5m， with delivery expected by the end of the quarter and the deal to be funded with cash on hand.

Broking sources have since identified the vessel as the 85，505 dwt Seacon Hamburg. The 229 m long， 36 m beam bulker was built at CSSC-affiliated Huangpu Wenchong Shipbuilding in China.

The price stands out in a market where few Greek institutional players have been willing to bid at current asset levels.

The ship will become the youngest unit in Castor’s fleet of 10 ships.
