Korean shipowning company acquires a capesize newbuilding from Korea Line Corp.
A source familiar with Seoul-based JK Maritime confirms it is to spend $44m on the 180,000-dwt vessel under construction at Hyundai Heavy Industries for delivery at the end of the year.
It is unclear how JK Maritime will trade the capesize but market players believe it will not operate it but will seek a charter.
