Petrobras Inks $1.7bn FPSOs
Petrobras signed a $1.7bn contract for four FPSO conversions with a consortium made up of Odebrecht, OAS and UTC, the Brazilian oil major said Monday.
The job is converting four Very Large Crude Carriers into Floating Production Storage & Offloading facilities P-74, P-75, P-76 and P-77, which will be used in the Santos basin pre-salt area of Cessao Onerosa.
The group entered the lowest bid in a tender in which companies submitted their materials at the beginning of this year.
Each platform will have the capacity to produce up to 150,000 barrels of oil and 7 million cubic metres of gas per day, Petrobras said, and will utilise 70% local content.
Work will start in June, Petrobras said, and deliveries of the converted vessels will range from March 2014 through the end of 2015.
