Later this month, the biggest boat show in Asia - the 17th China (Shanghai) International Boat Show is to be held at Shanghai Expo Exhibition & Convention Center. China has become a new treasure for global boat tycoons with 450 exhibitors and 500 real boats to show on the exhibition. In recently year, China yacht has development fast in the coastal and some developed inland cities in Shanghai, Zhejiang, Jiangsu, Hebei, Shandong, Liaoning, etc.
According to the China Yacht Industry 2010-2011, China now have 99 yacht clubs and about 1500 yachts.
China yacht industry is beginning to catch the eyes of the field. Famous Chinese economist Cheng Siwei says that China yacht industry is now in its crucial phase and of great significance to Chinese economy. To suppose if 100,000 yachts will be traded at about $80,000 to $150,000 each, it would be a great potential market of $8 billion to $ 15 million for China and the world.
In addition, Chinese government and many provincial governments have listed yacht industry as an important part of the water tourism development in the 12th five-year plan. China customs has also eased the policy control on departure and entry of yacht in some areas in China.
Insiders predict that China yacht industry is to grow by as least 30% in the next few years and the industry output is expected to break $320 billion by then.
