Hellenic Carriers plans to start shopping for a bulker this summer.
Chief executive Fotini Karamanlis says she feels the time will then be right to secure period employment for a modern secondhand bulker or resale.
“We will not start inspecting ships yet. We expect to start inspecting ships in the summer,” she added.
“Panamaxes have dropped more in value, and if and when things improve they will have better earnings capacity,” she said.
