German shipowner Rickmers Group is aiming at selling a number of (around 15) older vessels in a move to renew its fleet.
The rationale behind the move is to get rid of older vessels, which are not as efficient as newer ones.
This has become increasingly important, due to high bunker prices.
“Some older vessels are not able to find employment at the moment and this will not change,” a broker added.
