In 2012 Posidonia relocates to the exciting Metropolitan Expo Centre located within the Athens International Airport complex. This state of the art exhibition centre, the largest exhibition venue in Greece, provides a flexible and functional environment for Posidonia and its exhibitors and visitors. Allowing Posidonia and its exhibitors to realize their full potential.
As always, exhibiting at Posidonia will bring you close to the Greek shipping market, which in the wake of the world financial crisis, continues investing in newbuildings and upgrading its fleet. Despite the fact that the number of ships on order at world shipyards is down, the Greek portion continues to be high and at the beginning of spring 2011, over 600 ships were contracted for Greek interests giving them a fleet all-told of 3,850 ships of a total 261.7m deadweight. It is estimated that over $50bn is committed to ship newbuilding projects as the age of the Greek-controlled fleet continues to drop well below the world average.
Hence, Posidonia 2012 not only continues as the global marketplace for ship builders, suppliers of ships’ equipment and shipping-related services, but will provide the great Posidonia experience in a state of the art new venue.

The Posidonia Cup yacht race is the keenly contested, popular and exciting launch to Posidonia week. Organised by Posidonia Exhibitions in association with the Hellenic Offshore Racing Club, this will be the sixth year of the event, once again exclusively sponsored by Lloyd’s Register.
The five-a-side Posidonia Shipsoccer Tournament was hugely popular at Posidonia 2010, with 16 international teams competing in front of an enthusiastic crowd at the spectacular Karaiskakis Stadium. 2012 will be the third year of this competition.
