ExxonMobil’s shipping subsidiary SeaRiver Maritime has reportedly sold a 1987-built single-hull tanker to a Chinese shipbreaking yard as it gets rid of its non-double hull vessels.
The 1987-built, 214,853 dwt S/R Long Beach was reflagged to Tuvalu on January 31, 2012, and its name changed to Beach, according to Lloyd’s List Intelligence.
The vessel seems to be heading towards China’s southern province of Guangdong, where the Jiangmen district of Xinhui is home to ship recycling company, Jiangmen Yinhu Shipbreaking.
