StealthGas is in a position to expand its fleet of LPG carriers following a profitable quarter.
The Greek owner, continuing its crusade to clear out ageing tonnage, says it recently struck a deal to sell the 5,000-cbm Gas Kalogeros (built 2007), pocketed $4.4m in the fourth versus a profit of $4.3m in the same period a year ago.
StealthGas plans to boost its fleet, having made several profitable vessel sales, according to chief executive Harry Vafias.
“With the sale of older vessels over the past couple of years, we have improved our cash position,” said Mr Vafias. “We are now in a position to expand and renew our fleet and will be looking at opportunities for modern vessels.”
