Japan's Imabari Shipbuilding announced Wednesday that it has won an order for two energy-efficient bulkers from its unnamed "friendly" customer.
The 80,000-dwt newly developed BC design has reduced daily fuel consumption to around 28 tons at a cruising speed of 14.5 knots.
The wide-beam, shallow-draft vessel also adopts Imabari-proprietary energy-saving Hybrid Fin.
The first of the two kamsarmax newbuilds will be delivered in autumn 2014.
