CIMC Raffles of China won a deep-sea semi-submersible drilling platform from North Sea Rigs AS of Norway on a turn-key base on 10 February.
The platform can drill up to 8,000m, under 25 degrees below zero Celsius.
In particular, the platform is able to stand bad climate conditions in the North Sea of Norway, meeting the standards of Norwegian oil-related authorities, and others, and will be classed by DNV.
Meanwhile, CIMC had turn-key contracted for one North Sea deep-sea semi-submersible drilling platform on 1 December 2011 as well, and including the recent one, CIMC has been secured a total of five drilling platforms for harsh environment deployment.
