It is known that STX Offshore & Shipbuilding has secured new order for two 57,000-dwt supramax bulkers and 4+2 82,000 kamsarmax bulkers.

Sources said that STX Dalian facility was about to seal order for two 57,000-dwt bulkers from Turkish bulker owner Ince Denizcilik, to be delivered in the second quarter of 2013.

No price has been disclosed but it could be around $26m apiece.

Meanwhile, STX O&S's Jinhae yard is said to have booked its first newbuilding deal of the year.

Sources said that the South Korean yard won new order for four 82,000-dwt bulkers from Greek owner Efnav with two optional ships. The firm quartet cost $33.5m each with delivery set in 2013, brokers say.
