In times of depressed market, China Shipbuilding Industry Co. (CSIC) made a relatively good record in 2011.
CSIC's operating profit and profit for last year increased by over 14% and 10% each, on 2010. Newbuilding delivery also rose by 17% to 11m dwt. 
One from CSIC said that CSIC has made a significant growth in high-value ship, such as LNG carrier, offshore drilling platform, etc., as well as commercial ship to the similar level of Japan and South Korea.
