Turkey's Densay Shipping & Trading has reportedly signed up for one 35,000-dwt newbuilding plus one option at Jinling Shipyard for delivery in 2012 at $22m each.
A source familiar with Densay confirms it is looking to book a pair of handysizes but says the “order has not yet been signed”.
“However, Densay is familiar with Jinling as it currently has ships under construction there,” he added.
The Nanjing-based yard is currently building two 57,000-dwt supramaxes for Densay, which is said to have booked them last year for delivery next year.
