Chilian shipbuilder Asenav Shipyard secured an order for 2+4 offshore support vessels (OSV) from an A.P. Moller-Maersk offshore support vessel sector subsidiary Maersk Supply Servicess.
The cost of the new vessels is reported to be $200m and the delivery is in February 2014 and January 2015.
The vessel is jointly designed by Maersk Maritime Technology and Wartsila Ship Design. The new type is an eco-friendly offshore support vessel which could reduce energy consumption by 25%.
