Hyundai Mipo Dockyard in South Korea has reportedly won an order for up to three midsize LPG carriers from Swiss-based owner Geogas.
The deal includes one firm order for a 35,000-cbm vessel with options for two more.
Sources suggest they will be of an advanced design as they are costing close to $50m each. The first is due for delivery in October 2013 and the options in 2013 and 2014.
Meanwhile, Hyundai Mipo also won an order for one 35,000-cbm LPG/Ammonia carrier from KSS Line in October.
At that time KSS made a public statement that it made a decision to invest KRW 56.97bn ($49.54m) in a new vessel for long-term charterage. Delivery is set for May 2013 and will be chartered 5+5 years to Mitsui & Co.
