Middle East offshore rig builder Lamprell has secured its second fabrication job in a week with the award of a jack-up contract from Singapore-based Jindal Pipes.
The contract is for a LeTourneau-design, self-elevating Super 116E (Enhanced) class rig, to be built at Lamprell’s Hamriyah yard.
The rig is designed to operate in water depths of up to 350 feet and will have a rated drilling depth of 30,000 feet.
It comes on the heels of the recent win by the United Arab Emirates-based fabricator of a pair of contracts worth $200 million for Nexen’s Golden Eagle project in the UK North Sea.
