Unisea Shipping and Pemex get revealed to have ordered a number of MR PC's in South Korea.
Greek shipowner Unisea Shipping was reported to have ordered four 52,000 dwt tankers at Hyundai Mipo Dockyard, with options for another three.
Mexican state oil company Pemex is said to have ordered six similarly specified vessels at SPP Shipbuilding in August, with options for another six.
Each deal reportedly priced the newbuildings at around $37m for delivery from 2013.
The reports come hot on the heels of a five-vessel order by Latvian Shipping at SPP, with options for another five, which Gibson noted two weeks ago.
The ordering spree also follows around 30 orders for medium-range tankers in the 48,000-52,000 dwt size range so far this year, according to Clarksons’ database.
