In a recent report from the world’s biggest reefer shipping consultation company Dynamer, it is pointed out that traditional reefer shipping has been threatened by refrigerated containers due to the changes in transporting ways for perishable goods. Cargo capacity and market share hacw both seen declines in recent years.

According to the database of Clarkson, there is no new order for reefer in Asian shipyards in recent years, which makes reefer the only ship type recording zero order.

Dynamar put forward that reefer demolition volume hit new high in 2010 because of the long-term low freight caused by over-development of reefer transportation in former years.
